Sandsend Sandsend's long beach stretches for more than two miles to Whitby. Here the author Lewis Carroll thought of the idea for the tale of the walrus and the carpenter. The beach was often used as a road at low tide and the foundations for the pillars of a huge viaduct which once spanned the village, can be seen as a reminder of the coastal railway from Scarborough to Whitby. At Sandsend, seaspray, sand and light create an atmosphere of their very own. A limited edition print of 500, individually signed and numbered by the artist. The image size is 375mm x137mm with white border and is supplied unmounted. Price £8.95 plus £1.95 U.K. post and packing. £2.95 Europe, £3.95 Worldwide |
